  • FlixBus: Budget inter-city buses from €5. WiFi included. Green buses everywhere.
  • FlixTrain: Budget train alternative to DB. Growing network.
  • BahnCard 25/50: 25% or 50% off all DB tickets. €62.90 or €244/year. Worth it for regular travelers.

🚗 Autobahn & Driving

  • No speed limit: Many sections have NO speed limit (Autobahn)! Recommended: 130 km/h.
  • Drive on RIGHT: Left-hand drive vehicles (like most of world).
  • Licence: EU licence valid. Others: 6 months, then must convert (German driving test).
  • Fuel: €1.65-€1.85/litre (petrol). Check clever-tanken.de for cheapest.
  • No right turn on red: Completely forbidden (unlike USA).
  • Umweltzone: Green environmental sticker needed for city centres.
