🌦️ British Weather

The UK has a temperate maritime climate — mild, wet, and unpredictable. "Four seasons in one day" is the famous saying. Always carry an umbrella!

  • Spring (Mar-May): 8-15°C. Blooming flowers, longer days. Can be rainy.
  • Summer (Jun-Aug): 15-25°C (occasionally 30°C+). Best weather. Longest daylight (16+ hours). Heatwaves becoming more common.
  • Autumn (Sep-Nov): 7-15°C. Beautiful foliage. Gets dark earlier. Rainy and windy.
  • Winter (Dec-Feb): 1-7°C. Short days (dark by 4pm). Snow rare in south, more common in Scotland/north. Can be damp and grey.
  • Rainfall: 100-150 days/year. Western UK wetter than east. London gets less rain than New York!
