Saharanpur, May 24, 2023 – Around 400 coins dating back to the Mughal era were found while digging soil for erecting a boundary wall at Sati Dham temple in Hussainpur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district on Sunday night.The discovery has created a buzz in the area, with people from all over the district visiting the temple to see the coins.

The police arrived at the scene after learning about the find and took custody of the coins.. Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain said the coins had inscriptions in Arabic language, and were used during the Mughal period.

The coins are currently being examined by the archaeological department. Jain said the department will determine the exact age and value of the coins.
